Laser Engraving

Laser Engraving

Laser engraving which is a subset of laser marking is the practice of using lasers to engrave words or a picture in black or gray on an object The impact of laser marking has been more pronounced for specially designed “ laserable “ materials such as “ Yeti” cups and the like. Laser marking is widely used industrially and has been adapted to use on personal items. Laser marking is a permanent way to personalize an item.

Hand Engraving

Introduce your brand

The art of hand engraving is the process in which a hardened , shaped and sharpened piece of steel called a “graver “ is pushed through a metal surface to create. This is done by one of three methods. By hand pressure with a push graver, with a small hammer and and chisel or pneumatically. Which ever method is used hand engraving looks amazing when done correctly by a skilled engraver.

Computer Aided Design

After the piece of jewelry is designed in the computer aided design (CAD) software the program produces an image of the piece of jewelry that was designed to be viewed before the model is milled or grown in a 3D grower which then can be cast is your choice of precious metals.

Enameling

JD3 Jewelry performs two types of enameling epoxy resin and kiln fired. Both types look great when wanting to color to a piece of jewelry. This process can take up to a week when multiple colors are being used in the design.

Laser Welding

Laser welding allows for perfect seams and when creating custom jewelry as well as doing jewelry repairs it is imperative for all joints to be perfect ! The word LASER is an acronym for "Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation" which produces a focused beam of light that melts a minute area of metal without having to heat the entire piece of jewelry . The benefit of this technology is that welds can be made in very small areas to very small components those components are held by hand while looking though a stereo-microscope into the welding chamber and then joined without damaging heat sensitive materials such as gemstones. When joining pieces with a torch solder is used when joining pieces with a laser welder the actual metal the piece is made of is used to weld the pieces together therefor not producing a solder seam once parts are laser welded together the join is undetectable making the piece of jewelry look seamless the way your piece of jewelry should look. JD3 uses the best technology available to design, manufacture and repair your jewelry.
